Q: I was just diagnosed by my doctor today to have the regular flu virus after going through a big swine flu scare. I have researched swine flu a lot and have every symptom associated with it. Is the only difference in terms of actual illness how much more contageous swine flu is? Is swine flu actually worse to get than the regular flu or is it just overhyped? I read a newspaper artical today that said swine flu isnt actually as life threataning as the regular flu (not that I’m dying).

A: It’s overhyped. The only way they can tell the difference is by doing a blood test and sending it off to a lab. Everything is pretty much the same, only it came from a different source. (Pigs, obviously.) Unless you have some underlying health condition, like HIV or something, that might make your immune system compromised–you have nothing to worry about.
