Pain in left wrist is this heart attack symptom?
Q: for last 10 days i am having pain in my ‘left wrist’. first i thought it might be a sprain, but usually it would go away in 3-4 days, but this one hasn’t gone in 10 days. i am not able to pinpoint where exactly the pain is, but it does pain when my wrist is in normal resting position. It pains if i try to twist it in different directions and angles. just wanted to know is this a possible heart attack symptom? my age is 32. if yes how do i confirm or reject this possibility
A: There should be a detail history of your symptoms e.g. your profession, H/O recent trauma etc. However you might be suffering from Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. As a result, the hand and wrist may experience: * pain * weakness * numbness (may radiate up the arm)The carpal tunnel receives its name from the 8 “carpal” bones in the wrist. The carpal “tunnel” is a narrow, rigid passageway of ligament and bones at the base of the hand that houses the median nerve and tendons. The median nerve runs down the forearm into the hand controlling sensations to the: * thumb (palm side) * fingers (not the little finger) * hand muscles (impulses controlling finger/thumb movement).BUT IF IN DOUBT GET YOURSELF RULED OUT FROM ANY CARDIAC PROBLEM.
Heart Attack symptom for a 18 years old?
Q: It never occurred on me until recently, i keep on experiencing discomfort in the left side and the center of my chest. It usually last more than a few seconds… It also can be experienced when i rub my chest with hands.. Do you think its a symptom of heart attack? I’m 18 years old. thanks for your comment…
A: It is extremely rare for teenagers to have a heart attack. What you explained doesn’t sound like a heart attack to me. A while ago I had the same symptoms as you, and the pain was so bad sometimes I almost went to the ER. I went to my doctor and he told me that it was normal for teenagers to experience that, and he told me the cartilage in my chest was inflamed. I just had to take pain pills and it got better in a week or so. But I highly doubt that you are having a heart attack, so don’t worry. I’d get an appointment with your doctor, and soon so you don’t have to deal with that for long. Hope that helps!!

A: If I am right in assuming that you are female, you should know and inform others that womens’ symptoms for heart attack are different from mens’. They are not at all obvious, and usually do not include left arm pain. What they do commonly experience in an extreme fatigue that they can’t fight off. They will often think they are just tired and need rest only to pass away in their sleep. There is very little information out there to educate women on the symptoms of heart attack, but I have found this list; It’s vital to be able to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack. Chest discomfort, pressure or burningChest or abdominal discomfort or pain spreading to the shoulders, neck, arm, or jawDiscomfort or pain between the shoulder blades *Shortness of breath *SweatingNausea or vomiting *Indigestion or gas-like pain *Dizziness or faintingUnexplained weakness or fatigueSense of impending doom
