A: An adult should be getting around 8 hours of sleep a night to be healthy. But there is never time to get that much sleep in the day (for most people). I usually can function on 6 hours. If you feel very fatigue in the middle of the day or constantly drinking coffee to keep yourself away then you know you didn’t get enough sleep. Maybe try to fit in a 1 hour nap. Your body will slow down and not have enough energy if you don’t get enough sleep. (I don’t know the real health concerns, sorry)

Q: This year I have noticed that sometimes when I allow myself only a few hours of sleep I have problems waking up. What I mean is like this morning I was woken up but I felt strange like I was struggling to come out of the dream and become awake. I could hear that she was talking to me and I was trying to respond but as she even joked I sounded panicked as I tried to talk with her. I probably only had about 2 hours of sleep when she was trying to wake me.Again this is not the first time I’ve felt this panic or confusion as I was waking up to either an alarm or a person the past few months. How concerned should I be feeling? Could lack of sleep have this side effect and could this negatively affect my brain? This sounds a little Sci-fi but is it possible that I could be “trapped” or “lost” and not fully wake up like an a coma or something?I hope this makes some sense and someone understands what I’m talking about and has some advice for me. I figure Y! Answers might be a nice place to start. Maybe this is normal? I think I may start keeping track of these episodes in case I want to bring this up to a doctor. Thanks!
