After 5 days of horrible zoloft side effects, will switching to Buspar or withdrawing from zoloft…..?
Q: cause either a new cycle of side effects (Buspar) or withdrawel (zoloft)?Because if so I need to make sure to try to get some sort of benzo from the doc when I see him.Basically I can’t get to sleep, had my first anxiety attack in over a year since I started it, I wake up in the middle of the night because I am grinding my teeth so hard I can hear it, and I have massive tremors in my hand…… ya I really want nothing to do with this medicine (although the side effects were WAY less noticable while I had xanax, they don’t want to keep giving it to me)
A: Well, it really depends what side effects you are having – side effects tend to show up in the first couple weeks before the pills start to work. You could stay on a bit longer than five days but if you really feel so uncomfortable taking them, then stop. But, to avoid withdrawal, don’t abruptly stop. Since they’ve only been in your system for five days, it won’t be so hard to stop taking them. Slowly start taking a lower dose every day until you can finally get off of them. If you want to start Buspar, then you can – it won’t necessarily have the same side effects nor will it necessarily have side effects at all. Go to your doctor to see what they recommend. Best of luck to you.
How long does it take for the side effects of Buspar to go away. Seriously dizzy still after 4 days!
Q: I have been on Buspar for about four days at 7.5mg twice daily. I am so dizzy it isn’t even funny! How long before these pills start working? I take it for panic attacks, it is the only thing safe for me to take while I am pregnant.
A: There are fewer buspar side effects than with some of the other anti anxiety medications. Buspar makes some people feel dizzy, lightheaded, especially when getting up from a sitting or lying position. These side effects go away as your body adjusts to the medicine, however, you should check with your physician if any of the following side effects continue or become bothersome. Use this medication regularly and remember that you need to take this medication with or without food, but it is important to choose one way and always take it the same way so that the amount of drug absorbed will always be the same. Caffeine or if you smoke, affects the way your medicine works.
