A: hi william, i have had crohn’s since the age of 12. it is a well known fact that smoking and alcohol can affect this disease. Common sense tells us that in order to get into remission we should take care of ourselves, eat healthy (when we aren’t flaring), keep all MD appts, have appropriate testing done when necessary, take medications faithfully but if you have a question regarding side effects/drug interactions of course, you call your pharmacist and MD, and refrain from anything harmful like smoking, drinking, and street drugs.The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America has a site with the information you are looking for.
