What are some sicknesses with similar symptoms as leukemia?
Q: My friend has not been feeling too hot and is staying with a lady that had leukemia and she said that the symptoms that my friend was having were very similar to that ones that she had when she had leukemia but i was wondering if there are any other sicknesses that have very similar symptoms as leukemia.
A: First of all, leukemia is not contagious. It’s the cancer of the developing cells of the bone marrow, is in cancer of blood cells. Literal term means ‘white blood’.Symptoms like fever, night sweats, joint pain, swollen lymph nodes (esp in the neck), weakness and fatigue, headache can be associated with the flue or other infections as well. Frequent infections, fatigue can be associated with anemia (low blood iron levels). These symptoms can be confused with other things, but only a doctor can diagnose leukemia by doing special tests. Symptoms start out gradually and get worse with time. Suffice it to say, I really doubt your friend has leukemia.

When a Leukemia patient gets the Leukemia symptoms, how bad are they?
Q: When someone with Leukemia get’s symptoms such as bone pain and bruising, averagely, how bad would it be on a scale from 1-10?Thanks!Any more answers? D; Common guys. Also, to the first answer, I’m wondering the average.
A: I dont really know an average, but I can speak for my own symptoms. I was diagnosed with aml. The symptoms were up there near the 10 mark. Unfortunately, I had no idea I had cancer. I had been anemic all my life, and combined with thinking I was just over working myself, I dismissed all the symptoms. The bruising was probably the worst bruising I have ever had in my life (to the point that I had someone ask me if I was being abused, and they were serious). I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open – in fact I was falling asleep at work. My platelets were low so my gums were bleeding, but a dentist told me I had gingivitus, so I took antibiotics and dismissed that.I had no choice but to go to the doctor after 3 weeks of heavy but non menstrual vaginal bleeding. The doc assumed the bleeding was from a miscarriage and in the process of blood work and pap tests, the gyno found the blood counts that suggested leukemia.
