A: This is the same crap that has been circulating about cancer for decades. People can’t comprehend how western medicine has not been able to come up with a cure yet, so they go to conspiracy theories. It’s always about the people suffering while the doctors and pharmaceutical companies get rich. On the one hand they want health professionals to have all the answers, and on the other, they bad-mouth these same health-care professionals to their family and friends (“Oh, those doctors don’t know anything”, or “All they want to do is prescribe pills for everything.”) When people feel powerless over something that threatens them, their psychological defenses pop up to provide some explanation that they can live with.
