Any things I can use to fall asleep effectively without sleeping pills ?
Q: Hi i am looking for some effective things i can do/use to help me fall asleep faster without the use of sleeping pills.
A: Stretch before bed, drink a good cup of tea (make sure it’s noncaffeinated!) and let yourself daydream. Even, as cliche as this sounds, try counting sheep. The repetitive, calming counting will let your brain let go of whatever is causing issues. Also, I don’t know if this will count in your book as sleeping pills, but you can go to anywhere that sells herbal/vitamin supplements — I’d try GNC — and buy a bottle of melatonin. It’s a natural hormone that your body dishes out when you’re trying to sleep. It’s non-habit-forming and won’t make you groggy or anything in the morning. If you’re STILL having issues and don’t want to go to sleeping pills, you can do what my doc did when I had insomnia as a kid: benadryll. Just get the little low-dose pills and (I’m assuming you’re one of the people benadryll knocks out) pop one about half an hour before bed. But the time you’re ready for sleep, you’ll find it a lot easier.Hope you get some rest (:
How do you fall asleep faster?
Q: O.k. so i basically want to fall asleep before midnight which is hard because its summer vacation and i have often been up late at night and I want to be able to wake up early tomorrow so that half the day isn’t wasted. So when you need to go to sleep whats the most effective thing you do? Other then sleep inducing pills (not an option) and warm milk. Thank you in advance!
A: exercise in the late afternoon, a warm bath in the evening, a melatonin (a natural hormone of sleep) capsule at 9-10pm.
