- hunger pangs or labour pains?
- Q: I probably already know the answer to this but I thought I'd ask anyway. I had a good supper about 2 hours ago so I don't really think I'm hungry. I tried out my manual breast pump about 30 minutes ago and since then I have been feeling... well it feels like hunger pains. Kind of a constant pain. Almost like little bruises all over my stomach. They do get a little worse with my braxton hicks but is that just because it's tightening or could it be a sign that labour is coming? I haven't lost my plug or anything like that. I did have a pregnancy emotional breakdown a little while ago. Just bawling for no reason and then tried to move the carseat (it is in the wrong spot, and those are hard to unhook!) and then went to the nursery and laid out all the used clothes that I have been given according to colors. Just laid them on the floor so I could look at em. Bit of nesting instinct or something. Then I tried the breast pump. I wanted to know what it would feel like. I'm 38 weeks. Advice?
- A: Although its not entirely common nipple stimulation can bring on contraction. Your close and I went at 38 weeks... just keep monitoring the pain. The way I was able to decipher what was happening is by paying attention to how the pain felt. If it slowly comes on and increases in pain and then comes back down thats a real contraction.
