Cheek piercings - healing and jobs?
Q: I'm getting my cheeks pierced very soon and am currently applying for jobs. Now in this day and age it's not extremely common - but then not rare at all - for employers to base their decision on appearance. However, I am concerned as if I fail lots of interviews and such I will want to take them out just for work - How long can I take them out before they heal? My vertical labret closed real quickly, like in half an hour - 45 minutes, but my ear lobe piercings are real gems and like never heal no matter what.Say I work 8.30-5.30, will they close in this time? That's a long time.... eeek.Thankyou!AND PLEASE NO "WELL YOU SHOULDN'T BE GETTING THEM DONE" BLABLABLABLABL;A JUST ANSWER THE QUESTIONS PLAESE :D
A: I think cheek piercings are kickin' rad. My piercer has one on each side and she is super cute with them. The only way they will remain viable during healing is to get retainers. Acrylic isn't suitable for healing piercings, but in the case of a cheek piercing pyrex/glass *might* be. Oral piercings usually do heal quickly, so wait time for a retainer might not be too long.Just to put in my two cents, as much as I love my piercings, gainful employment is worth much more in the long run. If you think they may impede you from getting a job, maybe you should think about it some more. I don't think employers should assume that because you have piercings you are less of a candidate, but they do, so we have to play their game.
I just got my cheeks pierced, how long until they actually start to look like dimples?
