How long does bronchitis last?
Q: I’ve had bronchitis for the last 4 months. I’ve had bronchitis the last 3 fall/winters, but usually doesn’t last this long. I’ve been drinking plenty of fluids, used humidifiers and trying to rest as much as possible. My lack of sleep from coughing is in turn making me feel worse with my MS….which is really getting to me, I wish I could knock this out. What is normal as far as dealing with bronchitis time wise?
A: Go to www.merck.com and type in bronchitis information and that web site should answer all of your questions. According to that web site and what you stated you may have COPD. Good Luck.
How long does bronchitis usually last?
Q: I got bronchitis about 2 days ago. I’m trying to cough really hard to spit up the phlegm, I’m drinking lots of water, taking medicine, and I’ve been taking treatments every 3 hours, my doctor also gave me an inhaler (I forgot what it’s called but it’s not albuterol , and I’ve been taking that) If I keep doing this, how long should it last? And,Is there anything else I can do to help get rid of it or is that all I can do?Thanks in advance
A: Bronchitis sucks, I’m just getting over it myself. Usually it takes about 2 weeks until I’m all the way better, no coughing up mucas and able to lay down without feeling like I have to sit up and choke. Taking hot showers is good for helping the mucas come out, but there’s really not to much you can do. You may just take Vitamin C, and Garlic. IT’s not publicized very much, but garlic is the most powerful antioxidant out there, and could possibly help it go away faster. Bronchitis is wicked stuff, and it makes sure you know it’s the boss before you get over it.
How long Bronchitis last? Does it produce wet /dry cough?
Q: On second antibiotics. Will this crap ever go away? I keep blowing my nose as well. Is it normal to have a wet/dry cough over (2) months? Thanks so much for the information!
A: I’m afraid so my friend. Colds, flus, bronchitis’s just last as long as they want to. We are generally helpless against viruses and certain bacteria. I feel for your pain . Stick it out. Remember what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. (yeah, but who wants to be that strong?)God bless and help you feel better soon.
