Does anybody know how to get rid of a chronic sinus infection when antibiotics won’t work?
Q: For about 1-1/2 years I’ve had a constant sinus infection. My doctor and allergist have tried numerous regimes of antibiotics but it never seems to go away. Can sinus infection cause other ailments?
A: I had the same problem for many years. Finally, I gave in and had surgery. The space between the tissues in my nasal cavity were too small to allow drainage. After the surgery and a few weeks of recovery, I didn’t need sinus decongestants or a regimen of antibiotics for the first time in my life! I’ve been free of sinus infections for a little over two years. However, just in the last month, I am beginning to have congestion again. I will not hesitate to have the surgery again if that’s what it takes. Only this time I won’t wait so long.
Does anyone have any tips to rid of a terrible sinus infection when antibiotics and decong. meds don’t work?

A: well im not sure of what a sinus infection is but i think maybe this might help it actully for people who have colds. .i . you should drink fluids to help congestion and prevent dehydration. but avoid caffeine and alcohol it makes dehydration worse. gargling with saltwater temporarily relives sore throat. 1/2 teaspoon of salt in an 8 ounce glass of water. chicken soup acts as an anti inflammatory. it also speeds up the movement of the mucus through the nose. also over the counter nasal spray and cold medicines help relive symptoms, others make them worse. lastly humidity helps to put moisture in the air which helps relive dry runny noses you can use a humidifier or if you don’t have one. take a cup that is heat resistant and put it in front of you and put a towel over your head and the glass. vitamin c might help but not for most people 5,000 milligrams relives severe symptoms. but don’t to be on the safe side. cough syrup doesn’t have any effect on colds. and antibiotics destroy bacteria, but they don’t help against cold viruses. also antihistamines can help a runny nose but they are for allergies symptoms, they have an opposite effect on clod viruses. and not eating doesn’t do anything so it is best that you eat regularly. well i hope this helps. feel better!!!!!!
