Can you get a cold sore without a fever blister or lesion?
Q: For the past month or so, I’ve been getting this occassional tingly feeling above my lip that just comes and goes. Like last night, I got the tingly/burning sensation above my lip, but when I woke up this morning it was gone, and then later in the day the feeling came back for a few minutes and not it’s gone.Is it a cold sore? I’ve been getting this feeling on occassion for the past month or so and not a single leasion or blister has shown up, could I be alergic to something?
A: I have the that tingle sensation without an actual blister forming. I usually just take extra good care of my lips and try to reduce any stress in my life so i don’t get a cold sore. The tingle is like a warning that you might get a cold sore, so consider yourself lucky your just getting the tingle and not the painful blisters. Take care of your lips just in case though. Take Lysine supplements, it reduces break-outs.As for it being an allergic reaction, i doubt it.

if someone has a cold sore or fever blister, does that automatically means that they have herpes?
Q: Even if a child was to get one r dey also infected with the herpes virus
A: Yes it does.It means you have ORAL herpes- herpes of the mouth.Oral herpes is pretty common – 60-80% of adults have it.Although there are two herpes viruses, either herpes virus can cause genital or oral herpes. Oral herpes is usually caused by the herpes virus hsv-1, but hsv-1 also causes 70% of new genital herpes infections.Symptoms of genital herpes and oral herpes are identical – neither one is more severe or serious. Remember that they are often caused by the same virus.Herpes is a localised infection, so if you catch it orally you will only have oral symptoms, and if you catch it genitally only your genitals will be infectious.Oral herpes is usually caught through a simple kiss, often as a child, from a parent or other relative.Oral herpes can be passed to a partner’s genitals if you perform oral sex. This is more likely to happen when you have a cold sore, but can also happen when you are in between cold sores.
