how to know if it is pain from a new tooth or cavity.?
Q: last summer i began getting my right molar that failed to come in with the other one when i was twelve. (i am now sixteen). so i figured my pain was the gums being tender because of the growth. well then the pain started up again a week ago, and i realized i also have a cavity on the tooth before the new molar. take note that the molar isn’t fully done coming in yet.i’ve been taking pills every four hours for the pain, but i don’t know if the intense pain is the cavity (which has never given me problems, plus it’s not deep in the tooth, and the gum around it isn’t enflamed), or the new molar. i am freaking out and i don’t have dental insurence!i would really like to know to put my mind at ease.thanks(:
A: i would say that it’s the cavity, just because it’s not deep doesn’t mean it won’t hurt. ew i hate cavities :/ they’re so painful and annoying.
can you get a cavity filling with braces on?
Q: can you get cavities filled if you have braces on?
A: Depends on where they are. I got a few cavities filled when I had braces, but after I got them off I had to get a bunch more filled because they couldn’t reach those areas before because of the braces.
how bad does getting a cavity filled hurt?
Q: I’m getting my first cavity filled tomorrow night (which is suprising because this is my first cavity, and I’m 16!) , and I was just wondering how bad it hurts (as if you were to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10). I know they numb you with a needle, and that really scares me. Because I hate needles in the first place, but a needle in your mouth?! Ouch! How did your cavity experience go?!
A: it’s not that bad. the shot feels bad, of course but that doesn’t last very long. besides the dentist also will numb the area where you’ll get the shot with some numbing gel on a cotton swab. after that when you get the filling you won’t feel any pain at all. the most annoying thing for me is actually hearing the drill, but they’re done pretty quickly. so on a scale of 1-10 i would say about a 3-4 for the shot only because for everything else you don’t feel pain. honestly, i had a root canal recently and even that didn’t hurt that much, so you don’t have anything to worry about.
