How do you get rid of eczema?
Q: How do you get rid of eczema? I think thats how you spell it
A: My 5 year old son and I both have eczema. My son has had it all over his body, in his hair and eyebrow since he was an infant and a close friend of my father who has worked for a private children’s clinic for the past 30 some odd years has told me to use plain ‘crisco’ on my son since he was diagnosed. Now I have to admit, i thought he was just kidding (or crazy) for recommending something like this so I never used it… …until 4 months ago. My son developed thick ‘crusty’ type spots that began to crack and bleed. I felt just horrible that I couldn’t keep his skin moist and healthy so I called my dad, sure enough Doc (I actually call him Uncle Doc, lol ) dropped by and told me to bathe my son, I gave him a room temp bath, then grabbed an older pajama (one that I didn’t mind getting greasy and might have to throw away). When I got him out of the bath I dabbed him dry (do not rub) and applied the ‘Crisco’ (yes crisco, the kind that you find in the baking isle of the grocery store, don’t get the butter flavored, lol. just plain crisco) i put a nice thick coat of crisco and put on his pajama then gave him a glass of water and sent him to bed… Doc and I sat to chat and this is what he told me……__________________________________________________________Give the child a room temp bath just before bed (if serious irritation just wash him in water, no need to use soap)after bath pat dry with a towel but do not rub (stay away from using baby wipes as a quick clean up on his face and hands)coat his body, neck, ear and eyebrows with Crisco, Use only regular Crisco!(my son has it on his ears and neck too) (Keep the child out of the sun, obvious reasons) put on his pajama and give him a glass of water then send him off to bed. in the morning use a moisturizer, (I use Eucerin)Keep him hydrated, bottled water with his all the time, no tea, soda or a lot of sugars because they cause the child to pee a lot, dehydrating them. Feed him fish, these natrual oils are wonderful for the skin and hair. __________________________________________________________I stuck with it after seein his skin the next morning, I couldnt believe the difference!!! After just on month of stickin with it, my son has no signs of eczema, YEAH!!! his skin in moist, smooth and free of patches. Its a process and I know it, and I still worry about his body becoming immune to it and goin back to they way it used to be just because thats how it always seemed to happen when using lotions, creams and ointments) But so far so good for the past 4 months – *mama does a lil dance*- , Even though I keep the ointments we have on hand, I havent had to used them since, I am so pleased with the difference I have seen….I shoulda been open to Docs weird suggestion, lol he gives me grief about it all the time, haha!! I hope this helps and good luck!! 🙂 Danielle
What is the best way to rid eczema on the legs?
Q: I have had eczema on my legs my whole life and have tried every cream, foam, and lotion possible. I also tried to get a tan to cover it but, my legs either stay white or burn, and burning worked a little. Is there a spa treatment that will help? Or any prescriptions that could get rid of it?
A: Hi, you can try one of the natural treatments available on the internet (just google “natural treatment of eczema”) – some of them do work. For my eczema I use herbal cream by Champori quite successfully. It takes just a couple of weeks to clear the spots and then they stay clear for months on end.Try it: Champori comes with money back guarantee so if it doesn’t work – it’s free.Cheers,Stella
