What can you do when you have laringitis but can’t get off work, and your job involves answering phones?
Q: Is there some kind of throat soothing stuff I can use or something? I just can’t hardly speak at all and don’t know why. Someone mentioned it may be laringitis–Anyone know what causes that?
A: well if your job means you answer phones alot, one of the causes of laryngitis is overuse of the vocal cords. It would be best to rest your voice for a couple days but if you can’t, try strepsils or chloroseptics. They are two different brands of throat lozenges and they work really well. Also, try drinking warm beverages because they can be soothing to the throat. Avoid acidic [orange/grapefruit] and alcohol for a couple weeks until your throat feels better

cat w/ laringitis – HELP?
Q: How do you no if your cat has laringitis? How do you treat it the problem? Does it go away on it’s own or do you need meds? the past 3 days my cats meow is raspy. Although the hissing & eating habits appear to be normal. No signs of sneezing or coughing. Any suddestions?
A: Sometimes they meow raspy because they think it is sexy. My cat, Miss Kitty, even does totally silent meows from time to time. Just keep your eye on your cat for a couple of days and see if the meow goes back to normal. It could be something as simple as that time of the month, you know…if it’s a she. If it’s a he, then he has his eyes set on you.
