I have read before that there are home remedies to rid of them fast and well but you had to buy the book to get the remedies and i cannot afford it. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any remedies. Thank you! oh and ps….i have already tried lots of cranberry juice. lol dont work
A: First, make sure that you are following your doctor’s instructions and the instructions from the pharmacist. Next, are you drinking 100% cranberry juice. The light and mixed versions are not effective. Also, make sure you always drink at least 8 big glasses of water each day. How do you know if you have a urinary track infection? & How can you get rid of it?
Q: Sorry if iI go into detail or gross you out but I need to know! This started on monday . All day I feel as if I need to use the rest room but when I go I only urinate very little or none at all but when I do really need to I have to run to the rest room because I can hold it! I does burn a little and I have sharp pains inside….. well down there! I went to the dr yesterday because I was spotting, the dr seemed to be in a rush so she was really no help I didnt evev get to tell her about anything but the spotting and all she said about that is “if it continues come back in!” Do you think it is a urinary infection? Is there anything over the counter I can get to treat it?
A: I have had alot if UTI in the past and I feel as though you may have one. They can be awfully painful to say the least and you should go back to the doctor to get on an anitbiotic. In the mean time, load up on cranberry juice. Believe it or not it is the best thing when it comes to helping with the infection. Keep an eye on your temperature as well. If you spike a fever you should definetly seek medical attention right away. You should be carefull, because left untreated it could go into a kidney infection and those hurt even worse. The spotting is more than likely also from the infection. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

A: Antibiotics aren’t absolutely necessary unless you are having a horrible UTI. I get them from time to time never use an antibiotic, because I simply don’t like to go on lots of those. They really screw with your system, and for me, typically lead to a yeast infection. Which is then just another pill I have to be on! Drink cranberry juice and a lot of water. Drink cranberry juice regularly if you have a tendency to get a lot of UTIs. Remember to always wipe front to back…a lot of times a UTI occurs when bacteria from the stool gets into the urethra…icky I know, but true! If you don’t like cranberry juice much (I am not a big fan), try to mix it with half orange juice, and it is quite tasty. Orange juice, by the way, helps in the prevention of kidney stones (which I am very prone to getting myself)…and that was a recommendation from my Urologist.
