A: Autism tends to become apperent in children when they are around 3, just when they have the MMR. Children who are “normal” before this time, seem to suddenly regress and “forget” what they had learnt, speach, toilet control etc. With or without the MMR these children would still be autistic, it just so happens it co-incides with this injection and a lot of parents need something to “blame” the autism on, and what better than an injection. These children are very special and can be part of society with specialist care and understanding. They can be very loving and, with help, be part of a family setting, although, depending on their autism as some are worse than others.

Q: I am a mom with a 2 and half year old on the spectrum and I just got done reading another parents question about autism and MMR. My son was born a happy baby and he was always ahead on his milestones. On Jan.11 I took him in to get his vaccines and on Jan.13 I noticed my son spinning and not being able to look at me. In 2 months he lost all his language. I am a mother that has proof. I have video of my son before and after the shot. This issue is so complex so I guess my question to you would be do you believe vaccines cause autism or all of a sudden “Regressive Autism” is the “old new news” that doctors say is there is no such things of. I would love to show parents my video so they take this more seriously instead of saying “they said the MMR had no link to autism” If you are talking about the CDC- they have done the MMR study 3 times and each time they have to redo because it comes back tainted. Now we are in round 4 of this study and they are only using 25 kids out of the thousands there are. They are all from the same area.I guess for the parents denying it. Because of all of my research, and research of others, I have chosen to put my child on a selective/alternative schedule. He receives his vaccines spread out, one at a time, and some he doesn’t receive at all. He doesn’t get things such as Varicella, Flu, Hep B. He will get the Hep B later in life though. He stays at home, doesn’t go to daycare. He had Measles at 6 months when there was an outbreak, and he was too young for the MMR. He will have a test to see if he is immune before his first MMR, which he won’t get until he is at least 2. For those of you who blindly believe studies given out by the CDC, that is your prerogative. Many parents, rightly, believe that more studies are needed.And, so you know, the toxins that are in vaccines are not regulated in amount. Toxins in IV medications ARE regulated by the FDA, but not in vaccines by total amount. So, when your child receives combination vaccines they are receiving a lot of toxins at once. Those that have sensitivities to those toxins (boys under age 2 show the most sensitivity) can have regression in developmental milestones, develop Autism, etc. There are many links to autism, and the toxins in some vaccines are one of them, in my opinion. I’m not saying DON’T vaccinate your child. I DO think that our vaccines should be “greened”. The FDA should regulate the amount of these toxic metals and other substances in vaccines, especially in children. Their immune systems are young, they are small. Their bodies have yet to develop the bulk that is needed to absorb and excrete the toxins. I think all parents should weigh the pro’s and con’s, do their own research, and come up with their own decision for their child. “Smart people question what they are told. Ignorant people do as they are told.”

Q: I am doing a case study for biology, and am finding it difficult to find evidence for Wakefield’s theory that MMR causes autism. If you know of any anti-MMR sites, that would be really useful.Also, I am looking for statistics of uptake on the MMR jab since 1998, and how it corresponds to the number of cases of measles, mumps and rubella, as well as autism. If anyone knows where I can find these statistics, I would be very grateful =)I am also looking for good books about the possible link between MMR and autism, so if you can reccommend any good books that can be bought in the UK, that would be really useful.Also, if you have any views on the issue, I would really love to hear them 🙂 I personally think that there is no correlation between MMR and autism.Thanks alot (:
