Do blind people dream in color, and what do they see if they dream, or do they dream at all?
Q: I know people that have regular vision dream of what they see in their everday life. What about those that are blind, I wonder what they see in their dreams. Does anyone know anything about that?
A: A person who was born blind will of course have no visual input to their dreams, since they have never had any visual input while awake. They will dream what they percieve irl: sound, smell, touch, taste. A person who went blind in adulthood may still have visual dreams unless the cause of the blindness destroyed that part of the brain where the visual memories are stored.
Can the color blind dream of colors they’ve never seen before? Can the deaf hear sounds in their dreams?
Q: The answer seems obvious, but I had to ask out of curiosity. I know we can hear and see unfamiliar things in our dreams, and supposedly, if we astral travel, we can see colors never seen before. So I ask you, Can the color blind dream of colors they’ve never seen before? Can the deaf hear sounds in their dreams?
A: my uncle is color blind and he loves it when he dreams of different colors. he loves telling me about his dreams and the beatiful colors he saw. they are basic to us (red yellow blue green ect.) but he loves to describe them because he has never seen them before. i love listening to how estatic he is about it. he is like a little kid on christmas morning lol. ps he doesnt have a learning problem he just loves how he can still see the colors though he really can’t. as for the deaf, yes. my friend’s cousin is deaf and he explained to me about that stuff. so as you can see, i researched my answers LOL!
Can blind people dream and can color blind people dream in color?
Q: I just always wondered
A: Yes, I do think that blind people dream. I mean, they still have a mind. When they hear things happening around them I imagine that they form a picture in their mind. As for the color blind part of the question: color blind does not always mean that they don’t see any color. In some cases that is true. If that is the case the person can percieve the color but cannot distinguish it. There are also color blindnesses such as red-green color blindness or blue-yellow color blindness. The names are kind of self explanatory: they have problems identifying those colors. I actually know three people with color blindness, but they have either the red-green or the blue-green kind. Your question was very interesting! I honestly do not know if people that are completely color blind see their dreams in color. Thanks for giving me something interesting to think about for a while. I hope my information helped you figure it out somewhat! If you ever come across the complete answer please e-mail me at [email protected]. I am also a curious person and often wonder some strange things like this question such as you did.
