anybody ever get rid of their stove?
Q: i hate kitchen stoves, hard to clean, takes up space, the oven is not efficient. i use a toaster oven. i don’t cook much. i’m thinking of just getting rid of the stove. i figure i could use the toaster oven, crockpot, etc. It would free up space and i would have more work space. if i ever go to sell the house i would of course put a stove in. but how would i do things like make spaghetti, etc. in other words i think i would miss the cooktop but not the oven. i don’t have the money to put in one of those fancy cooktops or remodel the kitchen.
A: That’s easy – there are electrice heating elements you can buy that can simply be placed on a counter top – work just like the ones on your stovetop, just takes up less space. They plug into an outlet and have temperature controls.Go shop around, I’m sure you can find one.
Have you ever gotten rid of your 2nd vehicle to save money?
Q: How is it working for you?We just got rid of our second vehicle (the one we had a loan on, our first is paid off). I’m a stay at home mom of 2. So far it’s been fine, but it’s only been a week. Have you ever done this? How did it work for you?(On a side note – my elderly father lives right around the corner from me and has 2 vehicles that I have access to in case of an emergency or what have you).
A: We did that a few months ago. It works out great for us because we have a small gas station that sells everything from groceries to children’s Tylenol and diapers that is a few minutes walk away. My sons school is about a 3 minute walk away and when it’s raining I can call the bus driver and she will come and pick him up as long as I call before her bus route starts. In case of an emergency I can always call my best friend or grandmother who both live about a 2 minute drive away from us. So, far it has worked out great. We pay the bills and grocery shop after my husband gets off of work and schedule appointments for his day off or after he gets off of work. It has saved us a lot of money on gas.
