- A: Fleas do not generally live on humans, but will live on soft sufaces in your home ie, bedding, couch, carpet. You will need to kill off the larva and fleas, which will take about 6 weeks min. First you need to wash any bedding the cat may have slept on, wherever the cat goes eggs and larva likely have fallen off onto. Any soft surfaces should be steam cleaned/washed every two weeks for at least 6 wks in order to break the fleas life cycle. My dog and cat got fleas this year and we did not want to spray poison all over our house since we have small children. We opted to spread epsom salts all over our couches/carpet etc(left overnight) in order to dehydrate the fleas, then vacuum and dump the bag. Followed by steam cleaning, every 2 weeks and we've been flea (and chemical) free ever since.

- A: try changing to advantix...if that doesn't work...you need to get your home and yard treated by proffessionals. Flea products don't work if the environment is overpopulated with fleas. If you don't completely get them out of your home and yard, you are going to continue to have a problem
