Why is the Death Penalty Cruel and Unusual Punishment?

I have never understood being against the death penalty, never. When they call it cruel and unusual punishment, my blood goes from calm to boiling. I consider myself to be pretty level headed and common sense means more to me than book sense.

They Should Have Not Been Executed, Why?

John Wayne Gacy, murdered and buried, by latest count, 33 men. He was executed in 1994,
Timothy McVeigh, blew up the Alfred P.Murrah Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. The bombing killed 168 people and injured over 800 people, 19 of them children, Executed 2001
Hasting Arthur Wise, killed 5 former co-workers after being fired. Executed 2005

This list is not even the beginning of the people executed in the United States. The reason I believe most pro-death penalty advocates get so angry is the following:
1. Did any of the victims chose to die?
2. Was the way they were killed, humane?
3. Did the killer ask them if they wanted to die?
4. Did the family they left behind get the chance to tell them goodbye?
5. Were the victims in a place where they could have had any idea they were going to die?
6. Were any of them killed with a lethal injection?

To believe that sticking a needle in someones arm and giving them a lethel injection, is cruel and unusual punishment is a statement I find insane. The fact these people have taken a life and in many cases lives, and not one was by lethal injection, but by brutal murder, cries out for the electric chair, When I think of the suffering, not only to the victims, but to the families they left behind, I can only imagine. When a person decides to take a life, he knows that what he is doing is wrong, no matter what his logic. We are all born with the knowledge of right and wrong. Even for those who might not have that knowledge, they have seen society and know what a murderer can get as punishment. The problem is, they want what they want, and they do what they have to, to get it. When they kill to get whatever they want, they give up that right to live and function as a human being on this earth. I truly believe that we need an island, far away from any country, take the murderers, the anti-death penalty advocates and leave them there for about a week. When they see that there is “no poor little boy” in the murderers and that they will kill them just as easily as they did their victims, they might change their minds.

The only thing I can agree with is that there should be DNA tests done on evey death row inmate. There should never be a chance that an innocent man is put to death.
My belief is, we need the electric chair and firing squads back. We need something that would put the fear of God into people before they commit their crimes, oh thats right, thats cruel and unusual punishment. Give your child to a murderer, let them rape, beat and murder your child, listen to your child crying for you and then demand that they be treated humanely. If you can still feel sympathy for murderers, explain it to me.
