Who Will Win the SmackDown Elimination Chamber Match?

The SmackDown Elimination Chamber will feature the World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan and the five challengers The Big Show, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and The Great Khali. No Superstar competing in this Match has ever won an Elimination Chamber. Before we get into who has the best odds at winning this years Chamber Match. Lets take a look at what the Elimination Chamber is.

The Elimination Chamber is 16 feet high, 36 feet in diameter, consists of over 2 miles of chain, and weighs over 10 tons. Two superstars start the match, while the other four are locked up in a plexiglass chamber. After a certain amount of time has passed one of the chambers will open allowing another superstar to enter the match. A superstar is eliminated by pin fall or submission, the last superstar standing is the winner of the match.

Randy Orton is one of the favorites to win this Match. The only problem with Orton winning is where does that leave Sheamus. As the 2012 Royal Rumbler winner, Sheamus will most likely be challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXVIII. Sheamus is currently a face. Orton is also a face; Therefore, if Orton wear to win this Match it does not make sense for him to face Sheamus unless one of them turns heel. If the WWE planned on adding a third Superstar to the WrestleMania Match it would make sense for Orton to win because the WWE could add in a heel like Wade Barrett later on.

Wade Barrett should win this Match. How Daniel Bryan became World Heavyweight Champion before Barrett is a mystery. Barrett won NXT Season One. Bryan was kicked off NXT Season One for not believing in himself. Bryan was released by the WWE, Bryan was resigned by the WWE. Bryan won Money In The Bank. Barrett defeated Bryan at SummerSlam, to bad it was not for the Briefcase. Barrett has a great chance at winning this Match because he is a heel. Sheamus won the 2012 Royal Rumble. Since Sheamus is a face and Barrett is a heel it make sense for Barrett to win this Match. The only downside of Barrett winning is his reign as Champion may not last very long.

Cody Rhodes said he would “pull an Ultimate Warrior”. That means he will win the World Heavyweight Championship while still holding the Intercontinental Championship. At the Elimination Chamber, Rhodes will have the opportunity to make good on his word. Rhodes is in the same boat as Barrett. Rhodes is a heel so it would make sense for him to win this Match and face Sheamus (a face) at WrestleMania.

The Big Show is somewhat of a long shot in this Match. The WWE obviously does not want him as Champion, which is why they had Daniel Bryan cash in his Money In The Bank Briefcase against him at Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC). Since that time The Big Show has had three times to regain the Championship but Bryan weaseled his way out of each Match. There is also a rumor going around that The Big Show may face Shaquille O’Neal at WrestleMania XXVIII. If the rumor turns out to be true, there is no reason to give Show the Championship.

The Great Khali was a late entrant into this Match. Mark Henry was originally booked to compete in this Match but after being suspended by SmackDown General Manger Theodore Long, Khali took his place. As a late entrant to the Match it would seem like Khali is at a disadvantage; However, Edge was a late entrant into a Chamber Match back in 2009. Edge attacked Kingston during his entrance and was allowed to take his place. Edge took advantage of the opportunity and went on to become the new WWE Champion by winning the Chamber Match.

Daniel Bryan is still World Heavyweight Champion. Are you serious, bro? Bryan has got lucky during his past Championship Matches. He got Mark Henry to attack him in his Championship Match against The Big Show leading to a disqualification. He got his girlfriend Aj, to stand in the path of The Big Show leading to a no contest. He got the lumberjacks to attack himself and Mark Henry leading to a no contest. Some may call this luck others may say Bryan is outsmarting his opponents. Whatever the reason the WWE has not made Bryan look like a wrestler. That is why his luck will run out at the Elimination Chamber. The only way Bryan would win this Match is if he enters at number six. Barrett could than eliminate Orton. After being eliminated, Orton will become angry and attack Barrett. Therefore, the only thing Bryan would have to do is pin Barrett. This would allow Bryan to continue to look like a weak Champion and not a wrestler. If Bryan does somehow manage to win this Match, I hope he does not do it looking like a wrestler.
