Volunteer Opportunities in Cape Coral Abound

Cape Christian Fellowship (CCF) is a non-denominational congregation of over 1,000 in weekend attendance with a vision to impact its community in a profound way. Several weeks ago the church launched a campaign entitled “Not In My City,” along with its website NotInMyCity.org. Church members, attendees, and anyone interested in making a difference in the City of Cape Coral is encouraged to join the movement to address the growing needs of struggling children and families in Lee County.

The campaign seeks to target three specific areas: children, marriages, and crisis intervention. Volunteer opportunities exist in all three of these areas. From foster care to food pantries, tutoring to teaching parenting classes, and everything in between, there is something for everyone, from every walk of life. Individuals are sought who are willing to give a minimum of two hours per week of community service in any one or more of these areas. Church leaders are more than happy to work directly with interested volunteers who may be unsure how their background, skills, or experience match up with the needs of the community.

Whether you are a retired teacher looking to spend a couple of hours a week help a struggling child succeed in school or a former victim of domestic violence ready to help others in that situation, there is a need for your help. Specific programs are listed on NotInMyCity.org, but more programs are being rolled out each week, as individuals are encouraged to both engage in service opportunities as well as initiate them as they feel led.
