The War on Peace

In a dark nameless bar, there sits War and Peace. The two have always been against each other, but tonight they have decided to have a drink, and decide which one of them is justified. Peace is a soft voice individual, who wants nothing more than to bring the world together. War, the keeper of balance, and the destroyer of lives, wants to watch the world burn. In the eyes of people, they’re both needed, but one more than the other.

War orders a double shot of whiskey, and ask Peace the question of questions. “Do you think you can be broken, Peace?” Peace, takes a drink of his Pepsi, and says. “Broken? If you mean can I be persuaded to be destructive, the answer is no.” War stares at Peace with a look of doubt, and a plan starts to form in Wars head. If War can prove to everyone in the bar that Peace is flawed, then War wins his justification. He scans the bar, and quickly sees the ammo He needs to battle Peace.

In a smoke filled corner of the bar, surrounded by patrons, sits Love. Love was the apple of everyone’s eye in the bar. She had power over them all, and War knew this, because He was her victim once or twice. Love has made war, created hate, and keeps jealousy very busy. She’s the ultimate bringer of destruction. War gets up from his chair, and before he walks over to Love, he bumps into Peace, knocking the Pepsi out of his hand. “Oops…sorry about that, peace. Maybe you should watch where you have your sissy drink.” Hoping to make Peace mad, War stands there for a few seconds. Peace wipes off his pants, and turns to order another Pepsi, the smile on his face never fading.

Pushing his way through the crowd of drunken idiots, War finally makes his way to Love. He looks into her eyes and within a few seconds, her mojo starts to take effect. “Not this time, Love. I’m here for business not pleasure.” “What business would I want to have with you, War?” They retreat to a booth, and War tells her his plan. After hearing his plan, Love smiles at the new challenge. She believes that breaking Peace will be her ultimate victory.

She makes her way to Peace, who is still enjoying his new Pepsi. Her red dress flowing as she saunters her way over to him, her eyes fixed on him like heat seeking missiles. He notices her out of the corner of his eye, and within seconds a nervous feeling washes over him like a huge wave. “Hey there, Peace, what can Love do for you tonight?” He looks at her, and for the first time, Peace feels weak, and He lets his guard down. “Hello, Love, would you like a drink?” “A drink isn’t what I’m looking for, Peace. I need some company tonight, would you like to keep me company?” Peace couldn’t help it, he started falling for Love, and the thought of keeping her company made him excited.

He looked at her, and before he could answer, War got in front of him, and grabbed Loves hand. “I’ll take it from here, Peace.” War takes Love in his arms and kisses her in front of Peace. Peace knows that the best thing to do is leave, and stay true to his name, but before he could get up from his chair, Jealousy whispers in his ear. “Do it, Peace.” Without a second though, Peace smashes the Pepsi bottle, and stabs War in the neck with it. The blood flow was quick, and before War dies, he looks at Peace and smiles the smile of victory. Realizing War is dead; Love walks away, knowing that she is the true bringer of war. Peace falls to the floor, and realizes that his whole existence is false. There can never be true peace anywhere. While realizing this, Loneliness sits with him, hands him a Pepsi, and says. “I think we’re alone now.”
