The Silent War Broke Out in a Blast of Flames

The silent war broke out

In a blast of flames

Which created ice on the grounds

Of the peaceful soldiers

The wind caused the flames

To flutter away like fluttering

Butterflies, looking for

A place to stop

No one knew there was a war

Because it was so silent and peaceful

Note to students of poetry:

An oxymoron are two terms that contradict one another. For example: A blind man looks eagerly at an ugly sunset.
