The Best Irish Pubs in Southern Colorado

With St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Saturday this year there’s bound to be lots of exciting events occurring. There are many pubs where fun and good food can be found along with drinks, pool, dancing and music. Here in Southern Colorado three pubs stand out above the rest; the Shamrock Brewery and O’Malley’s Irish Sports Pub, both located in Pueblo and Jack Quinn’s Irish Alehouse and Pub in Colorado Springs.

Shamrock Brewery is located in downtown Pueblo at 108 West 3rd. What makes this one of the best pubs is they are also their own brewery. Their beers have won numerous prizes at the Colorado State Fair and since many are available on a seasonal basis, you’ll want to visit the pub more than just on St Patrick’s Day. Beer is not the only thing that the Shamrock Brewery does well, their food is all “house made”, as stated at shamrockbrewing.com, using only the freshest ingredients and even cooking with their own beer. The corned beef and cabbage is the best in town and is the best way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in Pueblo. They are opened for brunch, lunch, dinner and late night and have a kids menu for those tiny appetites. Weekday hours have the pub opening at 11:00 with a weekend opening time at 10:00. Brunch is served from 10:00am – 2:00pm Saturday and Sunday. The fun begins early on St Patrick’s Day with an opening time of 7:30 am!!! On most days parking is abundant, but if you plan on a St Patrick’s Day visit, the sooner you get there the better! Visit shamrockbrewing.com for additional information and to take a look at some of the fun you can expect to experience there.

O’Malley’s, located at 4001 North Elizabeth is equally as fun serving everything from burgers to ribeye steaks. If it’s too much for you to listen to Irish music continuously, O’Malley’s is for you as they also include a variety of contemporary music as well. On the weekends you can enjoy music by local entertainers too! Some might prefer this pub as it is located the Holiday Inn, so if a little too much fun is had, a safe alternative is to spend a night there!

Jack Quinn’s Irish Alehouse and Pub can be found in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs at 21 South Tejon Street. They are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and offer a kids menu until 10:00 pm daily. There will be live music on St Patrick’s Day along with the traditional Irish food and beer. Some of that includes favorite dishes such as an Irish Breakfast, Bangers and Mash and Grand Ole’ Irish Stew. Any of these menu items are available starting at 11:00am Monday-Friday and at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Parking close will cost you a dollar after 4:00pm in the parking garage at the corner of E. Colorado and Nevada. A good time is sure to be had by all who visit any day!
