Summer’s Sweet Embrace

The heat of the sun beats down upon me like a fierce opponent, threatening defeat.

Yet I fear not, for a cool breeze rescues me from utter damnation!

Summer is upon us, the birds chirp, and children play in the sprinklers to stave off the blistering heat.

Love is in the air, beckoning lovers to each others arms, helpless to the pull of nature.

The temperatures rise, and the youth succumb to laziness, and choose to congregate near pools.

Shaded trees become havens of coolness and relief.

Oh summertime thou art both a blessing and a curse!

You bring bliss, and also much suffering.

The summer is a double edged sword.

Harbinger of joy and despair, of life and death.

Summer, the season that is both welcomed and dreaded.
