Romantic Valentine’s Day in Venice

Romance in Venice, Italy exists every day of the year, but what better day to tour this ultra-romantic city than Valentine’s Day?

Venice by Day

Begin your day by strolling, hand in hand, through the thin alleys that wind through Venice. You can walk from one end of the city to the other, in a few short hours. Cross over the many bridges that canals run under. Small shops open up to the narrow walkways, offering items unique to Venice and other parts of Italy. High-end Italian designs are also readily available in Venice. Stop at a small pizza shop and order a slice to share.

In St. Mark’s Square watch the pigeons flock, admire the gorgeous architecture, or simply people-watch. Have someone take a picture of you and your Valentine sharing a kiss, with the beautiful St. Mark Basilica in the background.

Buy a bottle of wine, get two cups, and purchase a ride on the gondola. You and your sweetheart can sip on Italian wine while gliding through the Venice canals. From other gondolas, musicians will serenade you as you pass through ancient architecture. The front doors’ of locals open right up to the water. Windows, overflowing with colorful flowers, cover the exteriors of the homes that overlook the canals.

Venice by Night

After you have spent the day experiencing the romance of Venice during the day, you will simply be amazed by the romance offered at night.

Darkened streets are illuminated by small lanterns, adjourning the walls of the alleys. Delectable restaurants are hidden away; discover them along the walk ways. The ambiance in St. Mark’s Square is noticeably different in the moonlight. Masterful musicians play string instruments, under small spot lights.

For dinner, make sure to treat you and your Valentine to a deliciously authentic Italian meal. Try a dish you have never heard of and share it with your partner. Order a bottle of Italian wine and toast to the incredible Venice evening.

Valentine’s Day in Venice

Any couple, craving romance, would be beyond satisfied with a day and night in Venice. Spending your day lost in the alleys, gliding through the canals, sipping wine, eating pizza and pasta, and enjoying the slow-paced Italian life-style.

Remember to simply enjoy one another, while taking in all that Venice has to offer. Valentine’s Day is one day in the year, but you can love each other every day.
