Review of Progresso Creamy Roasted Chicken and Wild Rice Soup: New Recipe

I enjoy many Progresso Brand soups and recently, I came across a can of Progresso Creamy Roasted Chicken and Wild Rice Soup in the canned soups section of my local grocery store. This soup looked great and it was on sale! I decided to purchase it, try it out and write a product review about my experience with it. Here is what I discovered!

I bought one can of Progresso Creamy Roasted Chicken and Wild Rice Soup for one dollar and fifty cents. That is a sale price and a very good deal. This soup normally costs around two dollars. Each can has two serving in it. This soup intrigued me with it’s unique ingredients. It has roasted white meat chicken, wild rice, celery, chicken broth, rice, carrots, sherry wine, garlic powder, spices, onion powder, egg yolk and many other ingredients in it. That all sounded tempting to me. I discovered that this soup is low in saturated fat and has no artificial flavors in it. Fantastic! I could not wait to taste it!

This soup is great for microwave cooking and that is how I decided to heat it up. This product has an easy open flip top lid. I loved that! I poured the contents into a large microwave safe bowl, covered, heated on high for a few minutes, stirred well and served. This soup smelled wonderful and looked so good. When I tasted it, I liked it. It has lots of chicken in it and it is tender and flavorful. The wild rice in this soup is spunky and edgy. As in, a bit raw tasting, but still good. Sharp edges are present, so be aware. The broth is delicious, but a tad runny. You do not add any water to this soup and it does not need it. I expected the broth to be a bit more thick. I have to admit, that overall, this soup is spectacular. It is creative, gourmet style and worth the money. I rate Progresso Creamy Roasted Chicken and Wild Rice Soup four stars out of five stars.

One serving of this soup has 140 calories. 45 of those calories are from fat. It has 5 grams of total fat, only 1 gram of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 2.5 grams of polyunsaturated fat, 1.5 grams of monounsaturated fat, 10 mg’s of cholesterol, 860 mg’s of sodium, 17 grams of total carbs, 1 gram of dietary fiber, 2 grams of sugars and 7 grams of protein. This dish has a nice amount of vitamin A in it. This product does contain soy, eggs and milk. This soup is surprisingly hearty and filling.

I loved trying Progresso Creamy Roasted Chicken and Wild Rice Soup and writing a product review about it. It is different and filled with tasty surprises. For wild rice and chicken lovers, this one is thrilling. Worth the money. One of the best wild rice soups that I have tried.
