Rasmussen Shows Rick Perry Ahead in Polls Over Obama and Other GOP Candidates

I can say I said so, but don’t take my word. A Rasmussen poll shows Rick Perry in the lead over Obama!

Perry surges ahead
A telephone poll conducted by the reputable Rasmussen puts Perry at 44% of the likely vote compared to Obama’s 41%. This not only puts Perry ahead of the President, but also in front of other GOP hopefuls.

Just a week ago, Perry trailed Obama by three percentage points. At the rate that Perry is climbing, no percentage points will be left for Obama by election time. Oh, that it were so. But we’ll see.

Guys for Perry

An interesting gender phenomenon is that “Perry leads by nine among men but trails by five among women,” according to the poll. This suggests that gals continue the enchantment with the President’s teleprompter charisma. Perhaps the ladies see some redemption from social policies that try but fail to improve the human condition.

Guys, on the other hand, see real leadership as Perry’s potential, right along with a bona fide track record of achievement in areas that go beyond the go-nowhere touchy-feely of “community organizing.”

Over 30 for Perry

Perry leads among voters over 30. Obama takes the crowd that turns ancient at 30. No surprise there. We were all hippies, idealists or socialists, even SDS members, after the war or in college. But let living and earning a living change that around. Soup kitchens and cannabis clinics show little allure any more. A free-market economy and capitalism take on growing importance as our years grow to golden.

Non-union for Perry

The poll concedes the lead, by a lot, to Obama from union members. Not surpisingly, Perry leads among non-union voters. Not surprisingly, those with their hands out will want to support the man who pays them to stay home. You would too, if the welfare state doled out income you didn’t earn.

Working Americans

But for those Americans who find pride in their own accomplishments, who want the exceptional America they grew up in back, and who want to get back to work, to produce, to make something of themselves to their fullest potential……well, these are the folks who put Perry on top of the polls today.
