Plarn is a term given to recycled plastic yarn. Plastic bags are cut into strips and connected together to form a long strip for crocheting, knitting, braiding, weaving or macramé. The possibilities are endless when using plarn.

Beanie Hat Instructions:
Row 1 – Chain 2 stitches. Single crochet 6 times in the second chain from the hook. Join with a slipstitch in this row and each row hereafter.
Row 2 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet twice in each stitch around for a total of 12 stitches. Join.
Row 3 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet twice in each stitch around for a total of 24 stitches. Join.
Row 4 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in the next stitch and twice in the following – repeat around for a total of 36 stitches. Join.
Row 5 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in the next two stitches and twice in the following – repeat around for a total of 48 stitches. Join.
Row 6 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in each stitch around. Join.
Row 7 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in the next three stitches and twice in the following – repeat around for a total of 60 stitches. Join.
Row 8 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in each stitch around. Join.
Row 9 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet in the next four stitches and twice in the following – repeat around for a total of 72 stitches. Join.
Row 10 – 15 – Chain 1 stitch. Single crochet each stitch around. Join. Finish off.
Add a ribbing around the bottom if desired. Stop the pattern above at Row 14. Single crochet in the back loop of each stitch around for two rows. Finish off.
