Plants in a Jar

A green mass

A green web of leafy snakes lying in wait

Wait, waiting for nothing

Never moving from the intertwined positions they are locked in by forces they know nothing of

Plants in a jar

Maybe we are like the plants in the jar

Maybe we are stuck, intertwined in social webs

Maybe we are controlled by forces we know nothing of

We wait, as they do, never moving from where we stand

Plants in a jar

Surrounded by glass, can’t leave

As we, surrounded by an atmosphere we can’t see, struggle to leave

Struggle to explore what we see beyond

Do the plants know what lies beyond the confines of their transparent illusion of a world?

Plants in a jar

There is more to the world than the jar and the plants will never see it

Will we ever see what lies beyond our world?

Are we simply sitting in a room in another concept of what is real?

Or maybe we are just a mass of intertwined bodies lying in wait, waiting for nothing

Just plants in jar
