Venice, Louisiana, is just too small to show up on any map or census report and does not have many attractions except for the canals running through town. The closest town to Venice is another small town by the name of Orchard, which sits on the Gulf of Mexico. The one thing about Venice that everybody notices is all the helicopters coming in and out of the town. These are used to ferry workers to the offshore oil rigs. There are a few motels and restaurants in town, but not much else unless you are there to charter a fishing boat.

The Venice Inn Motel is a small place with few amenities, but it does put guests close to the Gulf of Mexico. You can walk down to the beach or find your way to one of the many marinas and charter a fishing boat. Rooms feature cable television, wireless Internet service and private baths. Dining can be found at one of the nearby seafood restaurants or pubs, which serve a light menu and cater to the oil workers going to and from the rigs.

The Cypress Cove Lodge is one of the bigger motels in Venice and provides guests with plenty of space. Besides the standard motel rooms, the motel has suites available. Rooms are equipped with cable television and wireless Internet access, and the suites have kitchenettes. The motel does have a barbecue area where guests can relax and cook their daily catch of fish. The Cypress is just a short walk from the marina where guests can find boating or a swimming area.
