A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
When my kids were younger, my son used to play jokes on us, so he gave himself the nickname, ‘the prank master.’ One day he called my mother and asked her if she knew who invented fire. My mother said, “No.” as she waited for the punchline. She didn’t get the punchline. Another time he called and asked the same question: “Grandma, do you know who invented fire”? Again she said, “No,” as she patiently waited for the answer. One more time he called and asked, “Grandma, do you know who invented fire”? Finally she said, “No, but I bet your grandfather does”!
