Majestic Ash

In a place and in a time
When all the people cherished wine
And all the peasants dined with kings
There was a forest below a mountain
And at its peak stood a diamond fountain
To the east of its shadow there was a path
Frozen under snow for a thousand years
One which lead into a frostbitten cavern
The forest grew on nature’s tears
Which swept through its floor in summer
When sunlight melted ice inside
The trees grew out of their slumber
But winter calmed them with its ice
One year a blizzard claimed all the land
The furious mountain took command
And magma bathed the land below
A toxic wind began to blow
The forest fell to nature’s power
The kingdom vanished in the hour
And all that was a peaceful past
Now rests beneath majestic ash
