Kenai, Alaska Family Fun on Labor Day 2011

If you’re visiting Kenai, Alaska and looking for something to do for this year’s Labor Day, why not stop by for a fun family picnic?

On Monday, September 5th, Kenai will be hosting its annual Labor Day picnic. According to Kenai’s Aspen Hotel website, the picnic will be at the park strip. There will be live entertainment, food and fun activities for the whole family to participate in. This is a free event, open to the public.

Other Attractions:

Kenai’s Visitor Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is free to visit, $5 for cultural and historical exhibits (free, if under 18), and is located at 11471 Kenai Spur Highway.

Take a tour of old town Kenai on the bluff or visit Alaska’s oldest standing Orthodox church.

The last day of Kenai’s “Intersecting Journeys” summer show will be held on September 5th. The cost is $5 for general admission and $3 for children and seniors.

Soldotna will also be hosting a Labor Day picnic and BBQ. It will be held at Skyview High School from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. There will be live entertainment, kids’ games, all day door prizes, an obstacle course, free food and drinks, and special speakers.
