Is Occupy Wall Street Protest Making Changes or Just a Bust?

I often wonder what is the agenda of the Occupy Wall Street movement. In New York the movement has been going on for about a month. Many people at the protest are people frustrated with Wall Street, lobbyist from big corporations paying politicians to vote certain ways and just fed up with a screwed up economy. These people are frustrated with the government, but want the government to regulate corporations.

Personally, I think the whole movement is a little bit unorganized and geared towards the wrong people. If you want to hold corporate America accountable then withdraw all your money from the banks, close your pension funds, retirement funds, close all credit cards, don’t take out anymore loans, refuse to do business with the banks, don’t buy stocks and pay in cash only. Refuse to buy from big corporations (such as Walmart) and only buy from small business owners.

Changing corporate American and the government do not require protest, just personal accountability. Sure, some of you will not know what to do without big box businesses, but how do you expect to change corporations if you still buying their products and using their banks? If you keep awarding a person for the same behaviors do not expect to see a change. Occupy Wall Street movement is missing an important piece from their equation, BOYCOTT. Back in the 1950’s and 1960’s boycott was followed with protest. If Rosa Parkers would have stayed on that bus in Montgomery, Alabama, it would not spark the fire for change.

If we get together and beginning to boycott businesses and big financial institutions change will begin to happen. Boycotting is not going to be easy because many of us depend on big box stores and corporations for exists.

We need to start supporting small business owners and companies that manufacture in the USA. Stop driving foreign cars, because many countries these cars come from they don’t drive American made cars. We use to be a self-selfish nation, but now we are growing deeper in debt China and Japan own most of our debts. Stand up America and have some personal accountability.
