Inspirational Bible Verses for Everyone

For millions of people worldwide that follow the teachings of Jesus, the Bible is a source of inspirtation. The book can be drawn on for advice for nearly every issue in their daily lives.

Even those that are not believers in the Bible can draw some inspiriation from the words of the book.

In fact, the Bible holds many great passages to help you through a trying moment, no matter what your beliefs are. The following are a few I selected, all text are from the New International Version unless noted.

For those that are young, or young at heart I would suggest Ecclesiates 11:10:

“Live footloose and fancy free – You won’t be young forever. Youth lasts about as long as smoke.”

The short version is “sieze the day.”

Struggling with courage? Try 1 Peter 3:14.

“But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.’”

Know someone that needs a little push in the right directon, perhaps a little motivation that we all do now and then? Then try using Ezra 10:4.

“Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it.”

Looking for support in making a big decision or life change? Mark 11:23 suggests that if you believe in yourself, and are determined to be successful then you will do so.

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

The American Standard Verision of this passage reads: “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it.”

Finally, there is this favorite, from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, reminding us that no matter what the situation

“There is a time for everything, and a season for activity under the heavens:

A time to be born and a time to die,

time to plant and a time to uproot,

A time to kill and a time to heal,

A time to tear down and a time to build,

A time to week and a time to laugh,

A time to mourn and a time to dance,

A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

A time to search and a time to give up,

A time to keep and a time to throw away,

A time to tear and a time to mend.

A time to be silent and a time to speak,

A time to love and a time to hate,

A time for war and a time for peace.”

Of course you may remember this from The Byrds song Turn, Turn, Turn, and it was mentioned in Footloose. In short it says, there is a time for everything, so even on your bleakest days and darkest moments know that the winds of change will pick things up and they will improve.
