I’m Thinking Adam Lambert Despises Michele Bachmann?

I recently saw a bumper sticker that read, “GOD is not spelled GOP.” This made me laugh. It made me laugh because the Republican Party plays the Religion card to get votes. In the 1980s, the Republican Party was far behind the Democrats in terms of registered voters.

Republican strategists targeted fundamentalist and evangelical Christians to rebuild their party. The majority of these individuals were found in the former Confederate states. Religious leaders like Pat Robertson and Reverend Jerry Falwell became the appeal to fundamentalist and evangelical Christians by making issues like abortion illegal and using the Bible as a means to legislate.

This new Republican birth helped President Bush and his son, Dubya, get elected. Now, with a Democrat in office, Republicans are tackling another issue to help boost their party – gay marriage. Will opposing gay marriage help Republican Michele Bachmann? She thinks so.

One person that does not think so is singer Adam Lambert, an openly gay musician who has his own opinions about Bachmann. Lambert took to Twitter to display his disgust for the Republican Presidential candidate. “Yup girl, your views are too clear: you’re an extremely ignorant woman who just grins when she’s called out. No thanks!”

Bachmann was recently asked by “Meet the Press” host David Gregory about her stance on gay marriage, among other gay related matters such as children being raised by gay couples. Bachmann blew off the subject saying she did not think people are concerned with issues like this.

Needless to say, Lambert was not pleased, calling Bachmann a bully. If Pat Robertson and Reverend Jerry Falwell helped bring the Republican Party to prominence, can Adam Lambert and those who disagree with Bachmann help bring the Republican Party down?
