The Essentials Pro is a “must have” kind of application that has lot of basic and frequently required apps in it. With this app you can avail the benefits of several apps by paying only for one. It is a very useful application as it combines all the required apps in it. This article explains the operations of each of these apps.
City Guide
This app is designed exclusively for effective navigation and it helps you in gathering information about your surroundings. This app also locates you to the nearest location of the interest point that you have selected. Once you open this app, it will display the categories such as Gas Stations, Restaurants, Taxi Service and more. You simply have to select the required category by tapping on it and it will open a list of items with the name and address of each. You can view the directions to the desired one by tapping on the Show Map button on the top right corner of this screen. From the main page of this app, you can add more categories or remove the ones that are already there using the + and – buttons on the top right corner.
Voice Recorder
You can record your voice or any sound using this app in the Essentials Pro. It can record any number of times and each file can be of unlimited duration. To record any sound, tap on the New button at the bottom of the screen and then tap on Record in the middle. After recording the sound, you have options such as Play, Rename and Status. Tap on the Status option to get more options like Flag, Hot, Done and None. The Actions button at the bottom will allow you to either save the file or cancel it. You can see all the recorded files when you open the app and you can delete any file by tapping on it and then on the Delete button at the bottom.
Radio
This app will allow you to stream all the radio stations that are available across the world. There are two options in this app namely, Directory and Favorites. The Directory will display all the available radio stations while the Favorites allows you to save the radio stations that you like to listen to frequently.
Weather
The Weather app in this all in one app will enable you to check the weather in any city of your choice. As you open the app, you can get the weather forecasts for five days including the current day. If you want to check the weather in some other city, simply tap on the world icon on the bottom right corner of the screen and select the city. You can also switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit by tapping on the Settings icon next to the world icon.
Notes
You can make quick notes with the Notes app in the Essentials Pro HD. Tap on the app and then on the + symbol on the top right corner to add a new note. After typing, you can share the note right away with others by tapping on the mail symbol at the bottom.
Alarm
This app allows you set an alarm using the + symbol just like in the Notes app. There are several alarm features in it like the Alarm Name, Alarm Time, Alarm Tone and Repeat.
Language Converter
You can convert a word from one language to another using this app. There are two lists of languages at the bottom of the screen and you can swipe your finger through them to select the languages. Select the source language in the first one and then the desired language in the second one. Once you type the word in the text box, you will get the result.
World Clock
This app will display the time and date in the various time zones and it requires you to select the time zone by clicking on the + symbol at the top right corner. You can view the time either in Custom Clock or Analog Clock formats.
Currency Converter
The currency converter converts the value of the currency used in one country to that of another. When it comes to operation, it is similar to that of the Language Converter. It has two lists with currency abbreviations and you just have to select from these lists and then type the value in the first box using the number pad on the screen. This app will convert and display the result in the second text box.
Measurements
This is a conversion app that allows you to convert between the various units of measurements. It operates in the similar fashion as the Currency Converter. It has a couple of lists with units of measurements in them and you simply have to select the units in both these lists and then type the value in the first box. The app will convert the value of this unit to the desired one and display it in the second box.
Compass
Your iPad can be made to act as a compass and help you in finding your way with this Compass application. All you have to do for this is tap on the app and it will display the direction in which you are.
Secure Album
This app allows you to protect your multimedia files such as photos and videos with password. As you open the app, you will find options such as Login and Forgot Password.
Flash Light
You can adjust the color of your iPad’s display by varying the RGB colors on the screen. This can be done by sliding your finger across the sliders corresponding to these colors.
Battery
This is a useful app that makes you aware of the battery backup left and the duration of the standby time. It will display the duration of battery left for various activities such as Internet Wi-Fi, Internet 3G, Talk 2G, Talk 3G, Audio, Video, Game, App and Standby.
Date Calculator
This application is used to calculate the difference between two dates, the day and the date. There are three options at the bottom of the screen namely, Diff, Date Calc and Day. Diff allows you to find the number of days between the two dates that you specify. You can find a date by typing the date and the number of days. The last option helps you in finding what day is a particular date.
Dumpy Level
This is an engineering application that is used to find out the presence of any depression or elevation in the surface level. There are three buttons in this app, Bubble, Degrees and Lock. You can lock or unlock the position by tapping on the Lock button.
Time Converter
With this app, you can convert the time in a particular time zone to that in another zone. Select the source time zone and type the time and date that you wish to convert. Now select the required time zone and the app will display the result.
