Halloween isn’t just a one day event anymore. Today people begin their haunted festivities well before October 31. There are many things you can do to celebrate Halloween before the actual holiday arrives. Some enjoy hosting Halloween parties, while others like to attend one or more of the many haunted attractions available each year. These are some of the haunted Halloween attractions available near Louisville, Kentucky you and your family can attend.

Field of Screams:

Field of Screams is located at 132 Darnall Ave, Brandenburg, KY 40108. This is an outdoor haunted attraction. The Field of Screams is a six-acre cornfield that has turned haunted. As you work your way through the maze you will be met by any number of ghouls and goblins. Field of Screams is open every Friday and Saturday from September 16, 2011 though October 29, 2011 from 7pm to 1am EST. It will cost you $20.00 per person for a night of fright in the Field of Screams.

Danger Run:

Unlike most attractions Danger Run isn’t really a place. Danger Run is more of an adventure. You and your friends will follow clues that will lead you through the city as you make your way to your destination. Along the way you will come to two other haunted attractions and as part of your admission to Danger Run, you will have a free pass to both. There are other great extras that you receive with paid admission to Danger Run. Danger Run is open every Friday and Saturday from September 23, 2011 though October 29, 2011 from 7pm to 11pm EST. It will cost you $16.99 for each person in your vehicle to begin your Danger Run adventure.

There are three starting locations for Danger Run.

Danger Run East: Lowe’s, 501 South Hurstbourne Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40222

Danger Run West: Lowe’s, 6651 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40258

Danger Run North: Lowe’s, 1350 Veterans Pkwy, Clarksville, IN 47129

Waverly Hills Sanatorium:

Waverly Hills Sanatorium is the very thing many scary stories are based on. This haunted hospital was home to many sick and dying tuberculosis patients in the early 1900s. There are claims that as many as 60,000 people died inside Waverly Hills Sanatorium during its years of operation. Waverly Hills Sanatorium has been featured on many supernatural programs like the SYFY Channel’s “Ghost Hunters.” Every year, the owners of Waverly Hills Sanatorium open this truly spooky place as a haunted house. Waverly Hills Sanatorium is open every Friday and Saturday from September 23, 2011 though October 30, 2011 from 7:30pm to 1am EST. The admission free for Waverly Hills Sanatorium is $20 per person. Waverly Hills Sanatorium is located at 4400 Paralee Ln., Louisville, KY 40272.

When visiting any of these haunted attractions, you should expect a rather long wait. Make sure to bring cash money with you, as Halloween attractions usually do not accept checks or credit cards. Lastly, you should keep the number one haunted house rule in mind, do not touch the characters and they will not touch you.
