We are all going to look back at this and laugh. All the fuss and crying over one year of playing and people are telling the man to retire already. There is that one special someone that criticizes to the bones of Tebow. You know the name and place — Merril Hoge, the ol’ factor back now an ESPN analyst on NFL Live and other ESPN news castings. I don’t know what Hoge has against Tim Tebow (quarterback of the Denver Broncos) maybe that Tebow is a horrendous quarterback at the NFL level. Or maybe that he could be better looking and Merril doesn’t get the ladies like he use to. Hmm — who knows? We all have our insecurities I guess.
There is always criticism in the world whether you play sports or not. Professional athletes get it the worst and we all know that’s the truth. Getting paid million’s for what they do is what fuels a lot of people to throw shots at the athletes. It’s not like they have feeling because they’re loaded with cash so why would they care, right? For some, like Tim Tebow it motivates them even more to hear it. Which makes me think — what if Tebow throws some doe towards Hoges way? For a cheap shot, every other day on Sportscenter or NFL Live.
If you turn on Sportcenter and you look on the left side of the screen at the scroll down news. You will see either “Tim Tebow cut?” or “Hoge on Tebow” or even “Tebow to retire!?” Every hour, even during the little league World Series games. Enough! Yah man, because if you can’t start this year you should retire or go to another team. Sit your behind on the bench or better yet stand on the sidelines with the headphones and learn. Another year to learn will make Tebow a better player. No quarterback comes out to win the Superbowl their first or second year. Unless you’re Aaron Rodgers, who of course, isn’t all that of a Quarterback just yet. Defense wins Super Bowls bro! Aaron’s got a ways to go to be the next Troy or Steve, and he knows it.
The Broncos chances of being in any AFC Championship, soon is very atypical. Orton is the best chance they got now and Tebow is the only quarterback on the roster that has a contract going into next year. No trade, no retirement, and there will be no quitting. Put Tebow on a team like the Chicago Bears of two years ago and a team like that will have a chance every year to make the playoffs and even an AFC Championship.
Next year, same talk and next year Tebow will start for the broncos with an improving defense and of course a running game like they do every year, John Fox’s team will be a team to be recognized with and Hodge will still have a job with ESPN. But for now listen and learn, don’t open your mouth unless it’s to make up with Hoge. Get a room or do something to show some peace and leave out the insecurities in the process.
