Five Golf Swing Tips to Improve Your Golf Game Without the Cost of Expensive Golf Instruction

Hello my fellow Golfers. Has your golf game got you down? Does it seem like the harder you try the worse you get? Well you’re not alone, so get over yourself and listen up! Golf is a very fun game but it can also be very frustrating as well. Trust me , I know how you feel, I have been there- Done that! I worked in the Golf Industry for 5 years, was an Assistant Golf Pro for 3 of those years and in the beginning , I had aspirations to play professionally. Boy was I in for a rude awakening! As a former Golf Instructor and P.G.A. apprentice, I have seen just about everything you could imagine happen on a golf course. So the information I am about to share with you is not something I read in a Golf magazine or learned from watching the Golf Channel, these are real life , down to earth tips that I feel will help you get your Golf game in shape and have you playing the best golf of your life! I am going to give you 5 basic tips that , if you will apply to your game, will have you enjoying Golf again. Some of this information is going to sound very simplistic but I promise you after taking and giving many lessons and playing many rounds of recreational , as well as competitive rounds of Golf, these 5 key steps are missing in most amateurs golf games.

1. Clear your mind- before you step up to the first tee box you need to clear your head of everything from home or the office and assure yourself that this is going to be fun!

2. Relax your grip-over half of all amateur golfers grip the golf club too tight which causes tension in the arms and forearms! Tension is the number one hindrance to a good golf swing,so lighten-up!

3. Set goals- set a goal, not a specific score, that you would like to achieve in your round that day. For example: if have had putting problems in your last few rounds, then spend more time on the putting green before your round instead of on the range seeing how far you can hit your driver! Then set a goal to cut your three putt’s in half from your last round and focus on achieving this goal during the round.

4. Lower your expectations-how many times have you taken a break from golf for one reason or another and then come back and shoot a good round your first time back? You know why? It’s because your expectations were low so your mind allowed your body to perform at a more efficient level. Remember –have fun, it’s a only a game!

5. Know your skill level!- don’t go out to the golf course and try to hit a shot that you saw tiger woods hit at the masters! Your asking too much of yourself and will only lead to frustration and a miserable round of golf. You need to know your own parameters in your game and play within those parameters. I like to use the 8/10 rule. If you can’t execute this shot 8 out of 10 times successfully then don’t try to hit the shot! Remember golf is 90% mental so next time you tee it up use these tips and have fun!

Well my friends , I hope that at least some of this information will prove useful in improving your scores. Golf is not a game that can ever be mastered so remember this when your out oon the course and don’t forget to have fun! Be thankful that God has physically allowed you to play this great game and no matter what your score is , always maintain good Golf etiquette when you’re on the range or out on the course. Now let’s go tee it up!!!
