Ella’s Kitchen Organic Baby Food in a Pouch

Feeding our growing baby organic foods is very important to me, and one of the brands that we regularly purchase is Ella’s Kitchen. This baby food comes in a pouch that contains 3.5 ounces of organic baby food. There is a chunky cap that screws off and you can screw a miniature spoon onto the end of the pouch.

When you are ready to feed your baby you can squeeze the contents out into the attached spoon, or you can simply squeeze the baby food onto a standard sized baby spoon. I have fed my granddaughter both ways, and both are easy and fast.

Last week I treated my daughter to lunch at our favorite restaurant, and while we were waiting for our food to come we fed the baby a pouch of Ella’s Kitchen Organic Baby food flavored Sweet Potatoes, Pumpkin, Apples Plus Blueberries. When I saw this flavor at the store I was elated! My granddaughter loves sweet potatoes, squash and apples, and the blueberries would give her the nutritional benefit of antioxidants.

This baby food claims to be appropriate for babies four months of age and that it is perfect for stage one weaning and beyond. The ingredients are USDA organic, and include organic fruit and vegetable puree (apples, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, blueberries) and organic lemon juice. There isn’t even any water added to this baby food! Kudos to Ella’s Kitchen for making a baby food my granddaughter loves, and one that contains no added salt, sugar or water, preservatives, thickeners, high fructose corn syrup, corn, egg, wheat, lactose, egg or wheat.

My granddaughter loves Ella’s Kitchen Organic Baby Food so much that she actually sucked it out of the packet and finished it off in a few minutes! Normally I would be concerned about her eating baby food in this manner, but she is ten months old and is able to handle eating in this way. There are no lumps for her to choke on, the food is a puree, sort of like an adult smoothie. In fact, I’d be tempted to eat these myself, they are quite delicious.

The front of the package reads “Babies love me warm or cold”, but I personally would not put the pouch in a microwave. If I were going to heat this baby food up I would stick the pouch in hot water. Since we always use these on the go, we don’t have that luxury and our baby has always loved the baby food at room temperature.

Ella’s Kitchen Organic Baby Food cost more than other brands, even other organic brands, but we buy these simply for the convenience. We all love them, our baby included.
