Economy and Faith

Economy and faith

As a faith adviser I can suggest a few of the basics to help you get through this current economic situation. These principles can be implemented where ever you are at financially and whatever your personal or our nations economic situation is. If you a dirt poor or filthy rich these principles work. Some of these suggestions are how I do it.

As Americans we need to be aware of the overall national and global economic conditions so we can vote in representatives that have our children and future generations in mind. That is why people from all walks of life, races, parties have come together with the Tea Party. We need to put the brakes on our spending in Washington D.C. We need to, like any family be on a budget. We need to get our national credit card debt down!
The Bible talks about the tithe, that we have robbed God and we are cursed with a curse “even this whole nation”(1). I believe our nation should consider God and these verses and take it seriously. As a faith adviser tithes, offerings, give and it shall be given, remembering the poor are a part of my suggestion in order to “stimulate” your own economy. As Christians we live in a different financial system. It begins with “seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you” (2).

These are some practical things I do in my life that I live by. They work at what ever level you are at in life. My faith is in God and His Word and I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior trusting Him knowing He is leading and will always provide. I live only one day at a time. You have everything you need today right? Don’t worry about tomorrow, it isn’t here yet and everything you need will be there tomorrow when you need it, not before. You don’t have to stockpile, unless it’s for emergencies. Tithes * Offerings * Remember the poor very important. If you can’t do it perfectly at least do something to sow seeds into the Kingdom of God where the Gospel is preached and you are fed spiritually so you always have a harvest coming in. If you don’t go to church give to your local church and/or on-line ministries. Feeding and clothing poor, the homeless, giving to ministries that help abroad like Samaritan Purse and other churches, your church. If you can only start with a dollar, do it! Help someone in your neighborhood who is less fortunate than you. These are just ideas.

I keep a list everyday of what I *have* to do, what bill if any I have to pay. I take care of the most important things on the list and any extras for fun I do that. I always try to enjoy life everyday.

Finally I would say yes! go out and spend! go shopping when you can it does stimulate our economy. I began looking at it this way several years ago when I had the choice to feel bad about what I went out and bought or spent my money with joy and enjoyed it!. I realized this is what keeps our economy going! Don’t be stupid with your money or credit cards. That’s not what I am talking about. And for the President to come up with a “jobs” plan if it has anything to do with using our tax dollars to stimulate the economy well, that is so wrong! That is only piling more debt on to the over $14 trillion credit card debt we now have.

Finally! Be strong, don’t worry. Get the fear and terror out of your life about money, bills, finances. Do NOT walk in fear. It is a trap and will paralyze your life! If you owe lots of debt, don’t worry about that either! Work at paying it off but don’t let it stress you out! God bless you!
