Do You Know that Autumn is Here?

Do You Know that Autumn is Here?

Do you see the burning leaves?
Painted red on top of green,
Smoldering softly in the sun,
A bush of scarlet fire burns.

Do you hear the honking cries?
Flying v-shapes in the sky,
Heading south to where it’s warm,
To come back one spring morn.

Do you taste the pumpkin spice?
Sharp, sweet feelings on your tongue,
Ciders, pies and home-baked treats,
A touch of warmth this chilly day.

Do you feel the leafy crackle?
Bursts of sunset on the ground,
Piles and mounds to frolic in,
A beautiful symphony of sound.

Do you smell the fresh sharp air?
The tang of fall in every sniff,
Cold and bitter yet somehow sweet,
A breath of crispness on the wind.

Do you know that autumn is here?
Colors, sounds, and tastes galore,
Feelings and scents for the season,
Welcome, everyone, to fall.
