Creepy Halloween Treats Using Gummy Worms

The gummy worm just does not get enough respect during the Halloween season I am just about to change that by giving you several different ways that you can use gummy worms to help make some special Halloween treats that will be extra creepy. After all don’t worms make everything creepier?

Worms in Dirt

This is not a new recipe lots of people have made this one, but if we are talking about gummy worms I have to mention this yummy yet disgusting looking treat.

What You Will Need

Dixie Cups the bigger ones are better, try to find some with Halloween decorations.

1 package chocolate pudding (and ingredients to make it)

About 20 Oreo type cookies – Try the Halloween ones with the orange centers to make it more Halloween like.

1 package of Gummy Worms

Prepare the Chocolate pudding mix according to the directions. Divide the pudding up in to the Dixie cups.

Place the Oreos in a plastic zip lock freezer bag. Roll over the with a rolling pin or pound them with something until they turn in to crumbs. Then sprinkle the crumbs over each of the pudding filled Dixie cups. Stick a gummy worm or two in each cup.

If you can’t find Dixie cups with Halloween decorations then cover each cup with some black or orange construction paper, and stick Halloween stickers around them.

Worms In Dirt Variation

This is my variation of worms and dirt. Instead of individual cups find a Halloween decorated bowl. The dollar store as them. Prepare the pudding as above in the bowl and spread it around. Depending on the size of the bowl you might need to make two packages. Then prepare the Oreos like above and sprinkle them all over the pudding. Then place worms all over the top of the Oreos. Have some of them on top and push some in like they are crawling out of the dirt. Add things like candy corns or candy pumpkins, and other gummy creatures like gummy spiders to make it a big bowl of chocolate creepiness.

Creepy Halloween Punch

Punch Bowl

1 2 Liter bottle of Faygo Red Pop
1 Gallon of Orange Juice
1 package of gummy worms

Mix the orange juice and Red Pop together. The two together will make kind of an ugly redish orange color. Pour the gummy worms in to the punch bowl and stir the punch around. Make sure people know the worms are in there, they would be hard not to notice and choke on but let them know just to be safe. Add in other gummy insects too if you can find them. Just don’t put in anything small that might not be noticed and someone could choke on. If it can fit in a toilet paper roll it is too small.

Worms In Your Brain

For this creepy treat you will need to get this Jello Brain mold https://apfco.com/secure/w1381/product_description.cfm?product=W1381-19

Make the Jello according to the directions that come with the brain, Just add in some Gummy worms after the Jello has been setting for about 45 minutes. Just kind of push them in then let the Jello finish setting. If you put them in right after you make the Jello and pour it in before it has set all of the worms will go to the bottom of the mold and end up at the top of the brain which might not be a bad thing. You can decide or even do a little of both.

There Are Worms in My Ice Cubes

Make a pitcher of green Kool Aid. Pour a bit of kool Aid in to an ice tray. Place a gummy worm in each individual place and place in freezer until frozen. Serve them in a clear liquid like sparkling flavored water, 7 UP or Sprite. Feel free to use Sugar Free Kool Aid and Diet Soda.

Ring of Worms

Use a ring Jello mold and make either Jello or Ice in it. Add gummy worms about midway through the setting. Yellow, green, or orange Jello would be best. Make the ice using Kool Aid in yellow, green, or orange. Serve the Jello as is. Just un-mold in cut in to slices. Add some red and yellow food coloring to a tub of whipped cream and mix it really well, hopefully you will get an orange color. Serve the whipped cream with the slices of Jello mold. If you make an ice ring float it in a large bowl of punch such as the punch above. A nice green Jello would look nice in creepy in that reddish orange bowl of punch.
