Create a Marbleized Manicure

If you are tired of the same boring monotone or French manicured nails, it is easy to create a beautiful marbleized manicure in a matter of minutes. The only items you need to create a perfect marbleized manicure are a toothpick or sewing pin, three bottles of different colored nail polishes, a bottle of a clear base coat polish and a bottle of a clear top coat polish. You do not need to be a skilled artist to perfect this elegant design.

The Preparation Before you Apply the Colored Nail Polish

You will begin to create your marbleized manicure by applying the base coat just like you would with any other manicure. Then let it dry about five minutes or according to the package directions. Then number your bottles of nail polish so it is easier to follow these instructions. For instance, the pink bottle of nail polish will be bottle number one, the beige bottle will be number two and the brown bottle will be number three. The last thing you will do before you begin to apply the different colors of nail polish is imagine your nail is divided down the middle vertically.

Applying Nail Polish to the Left Half of Your Nail

You will apply six circles of nail polish that are approximately all the same size on each nail. The circles will need to be placed close enough together so that they touch one another and nearly cover the entire nail bed. Start with the left half of one of your nails. Near the free edge of the nail you will apply one circle of the nail polish that is numbered one while leaving room for the other two circles that are going to be similar in size. Then apply a circle with the nail polish that is numbered two next to the first circle. That circle will be in the middle of all three circles when you are finished with this half of the nail. Then apply a circle with the nail polish that is numbered three. This circle will be next to the cuticle on your nail.

Applying Nail Polish to the Right Half of Your Nail

On the right half of the nail you are working on, you will apply a circle with the nail polish numbered three near the free edge. Then you will apply a circle with the nail polish numbered one. Finally, you will apply a circle with the nail polish numbered two near the cuticle.

Creating the Marbleized Pattern

When all of the circles are complete, you will take the toothpick or sewing pin and begin to randomly run it through the wet nail polish to blend them together and make swirls creating the marble pattern. Make sure you cover all of the areas on the nail that do not have nail polish on them yet by dragging the toothpick or sewing pin and making the nail polish run into those areas. About five minutes after you have finished creating the marble pattern, apply the top coat. Now you have a marbleized manicure that looks like it was done professionally.
