The Joint is a band that stands for strength, energy and power! Their goal is to entertain, and influence. “The Joint” have a few concerts coming up and there music is out. This band is not like most,they consist of a small group that packs a powerful punch, and when it comes to music they work hard for their fans.
Every Song from this band (The Joints), have a meaning and a purpose behind it. They try to be unique and creative in the music they produce. These three members have the heart and soul of a five piece band, and enjoy what they do. They want to share the music with people around the globe, along with their friends and family. Music to them is a way of life and you can hear it in their voices when talking to them.
This band, like any other has a history that can not be forgotten. They have been through a lot but always find a way to over come the problems and challenges that tend to be in the way. The Joint, Stand together when the going gets tough and they are Grateful to be playing the music they created. Working hard is the name of the game for them, and that is fine for them. This interview shows the emotions, and passion they have for the music they create!
1. How did your band start and is there a story to explain it? We started as a 5 piece back in the day, 2 band members left due to other commitments and we generally wasn’t making much progress as a 5 piece, which left the 3 of us to crack on and it worked out surprisingly well.
2. If you had to describe the band in 3 words what would they be and why?
Powerful, Energetic and Epic
3. tell us a quick story of something your band would be part of, something funny, exiting anything We got booked to play a gig it which was also the drummer’s birthday, so allot of fans were coming down. During the sound check, we got told by the promoter that we were to loud to play and we would have to turn down, like we were lounge act. There no way we was ever going to turn down, we rock it out! So we cancelled the gig. As we was packing up, another venue down the road offered to let us play, So we took the party there an had a wicked night.
4. what do you do before gigs? any traditions? No traditions really, Just a few beers, spliffs and were ready to go. That’s all we need.
5. Do you listen to or enjoy the same kind of music. We like allot of the same bands, but individually, we all like separate music as well, which adds an extra dimension when it comes to writing songs.
6. What are some of your goals this year with the band. Were hoping to get our music out to as many people as we can, get as many people listening here in the UK and everywhere else, try to line up some bigger gigs for ourselves and get some great people on board to take us forward.
7. have you guys toured yet, how was it? Yeah in 2011, we played around 50 gigs in and around England and Europe including Manchester, Nottingham, Macclesfield and a very eventful trip to Amsterdam collecting a very good following along the way.
8. What are you trying to say through your music? Nothing in particular, we just love music, love making music and it makes people happy and dance.
The Joint work hard at what they do because they love it. If you love doing something then wouldn`t you work hard at it? Like they always say “Success comes with responsibly” , They are dedicated individuals who enjoy what they do. This Band has went so far, and plan to go even more. They have the spirit and attitude to get where they want to be! All they need is each other!
Putting together a band can be a tricky thing, but these three guys made it look easy. Each member of this band support each other to make each other stronger. When listening to these three band members you will hear more than music, you will see more than a simple band. You feel the friendship each of them have. You will see the bonds that they all share. This is the true meaning of being in a band.
